What Raisekin is
Raisekin is a reference for parents. We gather what child health and dental bodies already publish, check it against the original, and lay it out so you can find an answer fast.
We are not clinicians. Nothing here is medical advice. For anything about your own child, speak to your pediatrician or doctor.
How we choose what to cover
We look at what parents actually search for, then ask whether we can answer it well. If a health body has already given a clear answer, we cover it. If the evidence is thin, or sources argue, we say so plainly or leave it alone.
Where our information comes from
Every figure on this site traces to a named source, linked on the page it appears on.
What we cite. Guidance from health bodies. The AAP, the NHS, the ADA, the AAPD, the CDC and the WHO. Where we use research, we link to the study through the publisher's own record.
What we do not cite. Other parenting blogs. Forums. Brands writing about their own products. Anything we cannot trace back to a named body that stands behind it.
When sources disagree. They often do. Rather than pick one and sound confident, we show you both and say which is the more cautious reading.
On research. We check a study exists, and that it says what we claim, before we cite it. We quote it as precisely as the researchers did. Where the evidence is weak, or comes from watching rather than testing, the page says so.
How we check it
Before anything goes live:
- Every claim is matched to a source that actually says it. No source, no publish.
- Every number is checked against the original page or paper, not against another article that quoted it.
- Every study is checked against the publisher's own record, so we know it exists and says what we say it says.
- Anything about sleep position, feeding, choking or fever gets an extra check against the original guidance, word for word, before it is published.
How we use technology
We use software across our process. It finds the questions parents ask. It pulls guidance from primary sources. It cross-checks our figures against those sources, and flags anything that needs a closer look.
It makes the checking more thorough than it would be otherwise. It does not decide what we publish. That stays with us.
Who is responsible
Raisekin is responsible for everything published here. If something is wrong, that is ours to fix.
You can reach us at hello@raisekin.com. We read and answer.
When we get it wrong
Every page shows when it was last verified. If we correct something, the page records what changed and when.
Guidance changes. When a source updates its advice, we update the pages that rely on it.
Keeping it current
That "last verified" date means the sources were checked that day. It does not mean the page was quietly republished. If the date is old, nobody has checked since.
