The problem we are trying to solve
The answers parents need already exist. They are just hard to get at.
They sit in NHS pages written for a different purpose, in AAP articles you have to already know exist, and in research papers behind a paywall. Three health bodies will give three different answers to the same question, and none of them mentions the other two. At two in the morning, with a baby who will not settle, that is not much use.
Raisekin collects those answers, checks them against the original source, and lays them out so you can find what you need in ten seconds.
What we are not
We are not clinicians, and we do not give medical advice. We have no view on how you should raise your child. You know your child.
We are here for the narrow, specific questions. How warm the bottle should be. What order teeth arrive in. When a temperature stops being teething.
We do not tell you what to do. We tell you what recognized health bodies say, and we show you where they said it.
Who it is for
Parents of children from newborn to about twelve.
How we work
Every figure on the site traces to a named source, linked on the page. When sources disagree, we show you the disagreement instead of quietly picking one. When the evidence is weak, we say so.
Our Editorial Policy sets out how topics get chosen, where information comes from, how it is checked, and what happens when we get something wrong.
Getting in touch
If something here is wrong, tell us. Corrections are welcome, and we would rather hear it from you than not hear it at all.
