We want every parent to be able to use Raisekin, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, or a phone in one hand.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site has not been independently audited, so we do not claim full conformance.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, and whatever you are on is clearly outlined.
- Text is checked for contrast against its background. Body text meets at least 4.5 to 1.
- Charts never rely on color alone. The Baby Teeth Chart numbers every tooth, and every figure it shows is also written out as text.
- The teeth chart and the age slider tell screen readers what has changed.
- Pages still work when text is made larger, and on small screens.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, we turn animation off.
- Forms have visible labels, and errors are written out next to the field.
- A "Skip to content" link lets you jump past the menu.
What still needs work
- The printable teeth chart is designed for paper. Everything on it is also on the Baby Teeth Chart page as text.
- We have not tested every combination of screen reader and browser.
